Thanks so much!!! You all are wonderful.  I think we got our ringworm from the Minnesota Beef Expo or else where we bought our steer from this year as we use to milk cows but havent for 5 years.  We actually never had any ringworm the last two years of milking and replaced all the wood in our show barn which use to house aour dairy steers and also whitewashed.  I did hear of several other people who came back from Beef Expo with loads of ringworm.  I have a chrome heifer with lots of Ringwom around the eyes and a little by the mouth but thank got so far I dont have any on the body or neck and I believe it is dead.  My sister also has it on the head and neck of her steer but is also dead.  We used clorox right away and the steer actually has hair growing already.  I was hoping to either go to the SDSU Brock ane Bridle Jackpot Classic in February of the North Dakota Winter Show but we will have to see how the hair grows.  Anyway, thanks everyone!!

I know that I can get it easily from more than one vet, but I'm sure that there are some that may not want to give it. I would like to know why other than it is off label. In other words, what it is suppose to do to the cattle that would make it a questionable treatment for them. Lana would you know the adverse side effects other than that it is for horses and cattle are human food source?

Fulvicin is an antibiotic if I am correct.  Maybe there is an extended withdrawl period?  Cab, you are right...as long as you wait the withdrawl time it should be alright.  I'm sure we're missing something though.
It's an anti-Fungal treatment. Ringworm is a Fungal infection of the skin. I have tried both Fulvicin, and Blue Star ointment. Blue Star is by far the best, and the most cost effective. You have to treat their pens, feed bunks, halters, combs, brushes, anywhere they can come in contact etc........... with a bleach water solution to stop the spread. Otherwise it will just reinfect them over, and over. Blue Star is a topical ointment, so NO withdrawl, no nothing. It just stops ringworm dead in it's tracks.

Not true. I have never seen a calf that has had ringworm ever get it twice. I maybe wrong, but I have never seen one get signs twice which kind of baffles me b/c it is caused by a fungus not  a virus. I do know PPL that have had it more than once. Anyone ever seen a cow get t twice? If so I stand corrected and does anyone know why PPL can have an outbreak more than once? Are there more than one strain of the fungus and if so why don't you see cattle get it more than once? Think, have you ever seen a 2 year old plus cow/bull have a visual outbreak of ringworm?

Bump for Windy Acres.

How long are suppose to feed the iodine salt mixture? Why not just buy the regular iodized salt. Most feed stores carry Iodized salt in our area. Hope these treatment suggestions help you out. Brent

I am not for sure how long you feed it.  I wasn't able to talk to my vet real long and my wife picked it up so that is something I need to ask about.  I think the bag of the iodine granules is 20 grams I think and you are supposed to mix it with 130lbs of salt.  I have a small herd so I am going to prorate that mixture down because it only says to feed 1 ounce per day per head.  I was wondering if it would be better to put the mixture in a gel bolus and give to each one so I make sure each one is getting enough.

North Dakota Steer Jock were are you from?  Just a little note to everyone else thanks for all the great feedback.  I think the ringworm is all gone on our Sun Seeker heifer and the steer has almost all of his hair back. We kept spreading udder balm on for a good few weeks and it grew back pretty quickly.
