We lost our dog that I have had since the spring of 1996.  She was a good companion and a constant protector of the farm and family.

Sorry for your loss.  Being 17 years old shows that you put a lot of love and care into her life.

We had to put my dads heeler down last fall,she was also a '96 model.She was goin blind and falling down stairs,so she had a pretty short fuse and with grand kids running around it seemed like the humane thing to do.

Sorry to hear, even my wife's 2 little foofoo dogs have grown on me that it would be tough to lose them.

It is amazing how attached we get to our pets.  My son took it pretty hard.
