And the down cow was a Heatwave on grain and lick tubs all winter?

Just saying where he's clean he's gonna get bred to a lot of TH carrier big birth weight former show heifers, so maybe he's not all to blame.

What's the cow?

bye the way.......wasnt a fan of salty dog in denver last year, just my opinion though!

I didnt see salty dog at Denver but saw him early spring at Hawkeye. Im not a fan of his markings but his thinkness and foot size he was the best I saw from just about any of the young bulls at Nichols and Hawkeye that same day. One and Only was right with him as well. I did breed to One and only but do want to see some salty dog calves. If Salty dog did not have so much white I would have deff bred to him last year.

I've had 3 One & Onlys, the first 2 came nice at around 80# and look nice. The third was 140# and dead and also took the cow(Ice Chest/angus) a couple of days to get up. I have 4 more to calve and I'm a little more nervous now. As much as I hate it, it comes with the club calf business.

How late was your dead calf? With the size and shape of the calf we had, I was even going to consider him on a heifer. By far the most aggressive calf as far as vigor I have seen. She slippedd was up nursing in 10 minutes out, and bouncing around the rest of the day. Would have liked a baldy, but she is coal black.

The big one was 2 days early, the two 80#ers where a week early. I would never consider using him on heifers with Heatwave as his sire unless you plan on cutting them out.
