There has been alot of bulls in every breed, club calf included, that would stagger you more than a tall drink of whiskey. Dean Kephardt told me several years ago, that he could have made a good living from his part of sales from Ildeno, Full Throttle, Full Flush,Meyer 734,Double Stuff, that he didn't neccessarily have to sell many calves. That ain't counting Houdini,McCarney,Carneyman,High Roller or any of his lesser knowns. But one thing about Dean: He don't only sell it, he use's it also.

I agree that the sales from some of the top selling bulls would stagger a person. Ar Su Lu Kool was not a huge seller compared to some of the other more popular bulls of the day, but I was told he had sold about 8800 doses in the first 4 months of the second year he was on the market. Even that amount adds up to a small pile of cash.

I was never  a bright light bulb when it comes to math but.....

Consider average age of bull promoted/collected is 12 months (yes some claim to collect at 10 months, whatever)
Figure 50,000 straws a year sold
figure average ejaculate jumps per year
figure average sperm count in an average jump
figure number of straws per jump
=
weak sperm count and a reason for "lack of fertility" when AI'ing using "clubbie bulls".......

I forgot to mention, from my last experience, the average straw of semen cost less than $1 to produce.......
