Shorthorn - white leg hair advice

Need advice:  we have a shorthorn steer that has white legs.  How do you build them with the white hair?  We had planned on using  adhesive like normal, but then do we just use Ultra white touch up paint to build with and then we are finished - do we need white paint to cover the touch up paint like you have do on blacks?  We could use baby powder, but are at least trying for a more natural look rather than a bright white leg hair then the rest of the body is more of a duller white if you will.  Any other advice is very well much apprciated and welcome.  This is our 1st year with a white haired leg calf and want to be able to build, but have a natural look to it as well.

i usually only use sullivans stuff, but weavers have a really good white paint that leaves a more natural look for white hair. i dont remember what its called tho. good luck! and remember no matter what you do its still paint and not hair and everyone knows

Don't over use the white touch up. I prefer the sullivans white touch up it looks much more natural.the weaver is too white and has a fake white look to it that's un natural.

The less paint the better, I really  prefer a more natural look and don't paint a whole lot on shorthorns. I agree with woodland, its easy to tell when they are painted. I've seen very few painted shorthorns that didn't look painted, I've seen a lot of painted ones that still looked good, but the legs just don't match the rest of the body. Its just trial and error, always remember it is way easier to add paint, or glue for that matter, than it is to take it off, so start out light.

Weaver's adhesive states that it will dry with a white tint to it.  How much of a tint is there?  Does the Weaver Brand white touch up dry with a bright white finish or more of a dull/flat white?

you can always use extra hold hair spray.  it is clear.

if you are worried about the body being not being white enough or too yellow, spray in oil then baby powder. it will make one heck of a mess but they will be white...

The weaver white is too bright of a white. Makes it look to fake. The Sullivan white is not shiney or flat. Just right to match a natural hair look
