This is Muridale Robert 35U , he has been used on heifers with no problems. He makes real broody, beefy cows that produce and stay in good shape.
We got him back from a commercial breeder after seeing how well he produced and seeing how well his daughters produced.
The cow is a daughter of Robert out roughing it this winter.
I have semen on him at Hawkeye.
I do like him, but I'm a little concerned the linebreeding will be too much with Bonanza being his sire and the sire of HP Manimal 1C (so paternal grandsire to one of my heifers). I've tried to find the formula to calulate COI, but I am not confident in the answer I got.

he's way better looking than alta cedar ultimate. If i had a female bred the same way or daughters i liked that had what you thought was missing in robert, i would do half-sib matings.

In the Spring 2000 North American Sire Summary, 7558 has a scrotal EPD of +2.1 with an .89 accuracy.  There is not another bull in the breed today with an SC accuracy above .70 that has any higher scrotal EPD.  And most of the high SC EPD bulls of today, like Feltons 517, all trace to Prospector 7558 in multiple lines.  He is the premier bull of all time for fertility, and through line breeding that excellence was locked inand continues in his progeny and grand progeny today.  And fertility has been shown to be economically by far the most important production trait.

I'm looking for ideas of a bull to pick up semen on for my 5 replacement heifers next summer. My primary goal is quality replacement females, 2nd is commercial oriented herd bulls, and 3rd is steers that will grow. The pedigrees are as follows:
HP Manimal 1C x Homedale Blizzard 820
Saskvalley Outlaw x JPJ
Homedale Discovery x Homedale Creole 135
Homedale Creole 135 x commercial Red Angus
Homedale Discovery x commercial Red Angus

I was thinking about "Dover" or Bar N Ripper, then I have a Hot Commodity grandson herd bull that I plan to clean up with. I've got JDMC Big Sky/Homedale Discovery semen in the tank I could use, but I'd like to use 1 AI bull on all of the heifers to try building a more consistent replacement group out of a pretty varied group (as evidenced by the pedigrees).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Here is the old guy Diamond Prophecy 21P whose daughters have done well for us. Now with his BOLT One Step EPD's he looks even better for calving ease especially CEM. His daughters have large pelvic areas and it's nice to see these EPD's confirming what we have observed in our herd!
Below are his current EPD's and a photo of one of his daughters.

One of the bulls we used on yearling heifers this year, Diamond Empire 6E a son of Diamond Lord Belmore 56B and out of a Diamond Urban Legend 28U daughter. His dam is one of those trouble free cows that produces and raises a good one very year. He has some good numbers to go with his phenotype and actual weights so hoping he is the "heifer bull" he looks to be. His sire certainly is an easy calving bull. Photo taken in September after being out with heifers since beginning of June.
