I have some angus based females that I would like to cross with some simmentals to make some clubby mommas.  Any suggestions on good bulls that have some thickness yet still maintain maternal traits.

If they are real angular cows that are good fronted and need more mass, bone and butt I would use Nutt-N-Butt, or SOS, just don't use NNB on one that is to powered up, its to much, dang nice females out of him!

my bit of shameless self promotion.  Try CNS Exclusive R511.  Baldy bull out of Headliner on the Perfection cow.  Works really good on mature angus cows that need bone and hair with look.  First pic is the bull. 2nd pic is a January daughter out of a plain angus cow.

We used the CNS Exclusive bull on some Angus cows and really liked them.  The calves had a lot of power and guts to them.  We sold one steer that was Ch. Simmi steer at the Minnesota Beef Expo. <cowboy>

Mo Better.. Will throw some really nice ones bred to Angus but watch out on the bone..they may become to frail on bone but he will throw plenty of guts.

Macho...Works really well..I don't personally care for him but I can't argue that he can throw good calves.. Needs to be bred to a smaller framed angus.

Ranchhand..I will never use that bull after the experiences my friend has had.

Mammas Boy.. Pretty can throw pretty calf..Just seems like the ones I've seen have been lacking muscle.not something you need when you're breeding to angus anyway.

Lucky Dice..Heck no..I hate him..flanky

I like the pedigree of Exclusive..any chance I could get an older picture of him?

Of course there's always Meyer 734 lol..Not exactly practical with the price of his semen and then if you do buy some who knows if it's really him.
JMHO.

I hate to do a lot of self promotion, but we have had several calves out of our bull, The Foreman, and the calves out of our PB Angus cows look real good.  Expect more bone, more hair, and more look than many conventional Simmental bulls.  Also, he is working very well with the PB cows.  Got one out of a Dream On cow; I think that mating will work! ;) Semen available from owners, Cattle Visions, Stepping Stone, and Midwest.  We just took him back to Nichols yesterday so if you are making the rounds checking out the bulls, be sure to look him up.  Don't want to sound overbearing, but the calves look good!  Hopefully have a baby pic or two up soon as the weather cooperates.

I guess I too will shamelessly recommend our PB simmy bull SVF/NJC Amazon, usually Red would recommend him for me :'(

We have had real good luck with him on our purebred and comm Angus females.  Definitely adds bone and power w/a moderate birth weight, and we are about 70% blaze faced calves.

1st is an Amazon x Comm Angus Heifer

I have several nice calves out of Exclusive. Going to be very nice replacements, but nothing "freaky" (which I don't want anyway!)
Also have several nice calves out of Climax.

Both are growing and it will be interesting to see how they develop!

I have one Amazon I am patiently waiting. I also have a 3C macho from last year out of a Who cow. She is an absolute sweetheart and did well the couple of times we took her out. She doesn't have much hair though. Her momma has hair but she doesn't seem to have alot. She is not massive boned but thick enough to be a nice steer momma.
