After another couple of busy weekends we're just about done picturing our sale heifers.  This is just a sampling of some of the opens we'll be selling on the 2009 Northern Lights Sale on December 5th, 2009 in Salem, SD.  If anyones interested in any of them pm me your address and I'll make sure you get one of the catalogs when they're finished.  They should be coming out around the first part of November???

I don't normally like Shear Force.  Lot of calving ease throw aways, however that is one of the better Shear Force heifers I have seen.

Great set of calves.

Just curious - how's the demeanor on your Foreman calves?  I had a few this year and can hardly get in the pen with them.  The cows are very docile and have never thrown a wild one in the past.  Big powerful growthy calves but I will never use again due to them being flat crazy.  Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

JWW - Yes it is the Foreman bull that Ruby's own.

forcheyhawk - I wouldn't say that the attitude on our Foreman calves has really been any different than the rest of them.  We really haven't had that many to make a firm judgement on though... a half dozen or so....  With that said, of the ones we've got on the ground most of them have been pretty good.  There is one with a little more fight in her and it is somewhat suprising considering her dam but nothing that would change our minds about using him.  We've got quite a few more due this Spring though so we should know more about the subject by next fall!
