Slick shearing show heifers in spring

I’m debating slick shearing my Heifer this weekend. I’ve heard that it helps hair growth and the shedding process. What are your guys opinions and experience with that? Our county fair is the last week in July and that’s the only show I’m taking her to. Would that leave me enough time to work the hair back? She’s a Shorthorn/Charolais cross and doesn’t really have much hair yet. About a year old. Also do you guys shear them all or leave hair on different parts?

I m certainly no fitter, but my good friend is.  (lol) and I asked him this very same question yesterday. My show is the first weekend of Sept, and he said get it slicked off now. So I would think you should as well.
