It was a nice day here in Iowa and finally got a few of the cows let out on the big pasture beings the creek went down and got that fence up. Decided to snap a few pictures of them beings they looked pretty happy to be back out there. The first picture is of a PB angus cow her halfblood lowline calf and a halfblood recip cow. The second is a picture of a halfblood recip cow. The third and fourth are of a fullblood lowline heifer calf. The last is a halfblood lowline heifer out of a pb angus cow.

Sorry for the late response, Matt.  I was in Wyoming 'til the 28th and didn't scroll back for older messages 'til just now!  Anyway, I really like these cattle and especially like the halfblood recip cow in the second pic!  Who are/is the sire(s) on them?

My halfblood cows are all 8 years old she is sired by ALM Clout 27H and out of a angus cow from John Reed. I picked them up about 3 years ago from Keith Hansen in Hampton Iowa he was using about 15?!? of these nice recip cows at his place.. I thought they seemed more then recip cows so bred them to the tequila bull.. Except that one and she had the fb embryo calf in her.

Well, she sure is nice!  That proves that recip cows that are well cared for don't have to be as young as some think!

Thanks TJ, what do you think of the fullblood heifer shes really been putting on some weight now that I got her on creep feed.

I'd like to see some more pictures, but she looks like she's got some potential.
