I have a paddy cow that I am looking at breeding clubby this time around.  she is a little but strait of of both ends and needs to be deeper bodied.  she is good fronted and has lots of bone.

A paddy needing more rib? No way! lol  ;D WMW works pretty good on Irish Whiskey females, so I would suggest Dr. Who for her, he will add some rib, some soundness, won't make her crazy fronted but if she is good fronted will keep her thata way.

I would not go near anything WMW related on a cow that is already straight on either end...just my opinion...it would be very hard to mate anything clubby if you think the cow is already straight...maybe go Angus, Maintainer, or SimAngus this time around and go back clubby on any sound daughters that she produces? Just a thought

I'll have to disagree on the WMW or Dr. Who. I don't think they will help loosen the structure. Those club calf bulls are just too straight as a whole. I agree with Throttle. Go one step backwards and breed her to a maternal bull that has plenty of angle.

Copyright was pretty sought after when he sold several years ago in Duff's sale. Not too many ordianry commercial bulls bring $25000.  had a chance to see him back in the fall, he is longer sided now than he was in his yearling picture used in the ads.  He is pretty big boned and heavy muscled as well.  To me he is a bull to use to get high quality replacement females and when you get a bull calf they will be saleable as steers or commercial bulls and not throw aways.

you kill me.  what the hell are all these crossed up club calf animals?...just nothing but commercial cattle.  there is no American Club Calf Association, although the Maine and Chi associations are vying for the title.

and look at all the club calf bulls that get promoted every year.  showflake, you need to shut it until you have something intelligent to say.

If you're using him on anything besides a registered Angus female, the fact that he's not registered really doesn't matter.  I've seen Copyright - as afhm says, he's anything but an ordinary commercial bull, and though I haven't seen Okie's Paddy cow, I've seen plenty of them that look just like he (or she) describes, and I stand behind my original statement that I believe it'd be a good match.  Maybe you should read the original post again;

They're not looking for bone or neck extension. They asked for something to add body and soundness.  Copyright fits the bill.
