On my way into a restaurant for lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie. Again I laughed--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept.

He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside, as I decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of the redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

That's great!  Maybe you could use your mind ray to get people to vote Republican!!!  With the numerous campaign commercials Obama and the UAW are running in Indiana it is obvious that Obama has had some wealth redistributed to him.

Socialism sounds like a great utopia but people forget that it has never worked. Take for example the farmers in the old soviet union. They are given so many food coupons, vodka and whatnot to farm a say 400 acre farm. Then they were allowed a 3 acre garden on the side. I am told that there is more production in the 3 acre garden then there is on the other 400 acres. Its all about incentive...they get to keep the stuff in their garden but they don't on the other 400 acres. Same goes for inventions. If they invent things or practices that are a improvement , they won't be rewarde for it...the government just takes it and uses it. Why get out of bed in the morning if you don't have to?Why be a hard charger? Why try an maximize production levels if you are not compensated for excellence? I think socialism kills the human desire to over-achieve and strive for excellence.Redistribution of wealth sounds great on face value. We'll all sing Kumbya and hold hands and whatnot. Most peoples concept of history is from the day they were born to the day they die. Once the 250,000$ is established, it is only a matter of time before it is lowered and lowered again. signed a Ronald Reagan fiscal conservative. ;D

I love it.  Great way to make your point to an Obama supporter.  But I'll bet that you didn't change is mind.

BTW  I wouldn't go back to that restaurant to eat for a while.  You never know what that server will do to your food before it comes out of the kitchen.

Once upon a time, there was a charismatic and eloquent young leader who decided his nation needed a change, and he was the one to implement it. The people were receptive and ready for a change. He spoke passionately when denouncing the existing system and the press loved him. Nobody questioned what he believed in or who his friends were. He would help the poor and bring free medical care and education to all. He would bring justice and equality. He said, 'I am for hope and change, and will bring you both..' Nobody bothered to ask about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent, all guns had been confiscated. When everyone was finally equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and miserable. Their free education was worthless. When the change was fully implemented, the country had been reduced to Third World status. More than a million people fled in small boats and rafts.

The charismatic young leader was Fidel Castro; the nation, Cuba .

The citizens of the United States would never fall for a charismatic, eloquent young leader who promises hope and change without asking, 'What change, and how much will it cost us?'  Would we?

here's a perspective from just some guy in the neighborhood.

http://www.zombietime.com/prairie_fire/

pity, this guy now is directing educational material, and did so with obama on the bipartisan board, which isn't enough for me to discount their true intentions.

here's a review of a book by ayers by obama for just some guy in the neighborhood.

anyone got any bets on whether the next supreme court justice will either be for or against the DC gun ban?  uphold the fairness doctrine under a super majority?

the list will grow as SF spreads to the rest of the country.  simple demographics will kill europe in 50 years and only america will be left and we only have a stasis for demographics.  you will see change in your lifetime.  it will be worse than last time.

more on obama.

As Obama noted in a  speech to La Raza’s 2007 conference:

"It doesn't matter if the injustice involves a brown man who's badgered into proving his citizenship again and again or a black man who's pulled over because the car he's driving is too nice—it's injustice either way and we all have a role in ending it."  doesn't matter if the brown man or a man of any color is illegal, it's injustice to not have one's vote offset by an illegal.

typical false choice by the left over voter suppression.  the real goal is voter suppression of LEGAL voters with illegal one's, hence the push for amnesty, as they are guaranteed votes.

here's some voter suppression.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/22/voter.fraud/index.html

Clifton Mitchell helped register nearly 2,000 voters for the community group ACORN. But not one of them actually existed.  "I regret it. I paid the price for it," he said.

Mitchell was convicted last year and spent nearly three months in prison. He's one of the few ACORN workers convicted of voter registration fraud.

Today, he lives with his wife and two boys, ages 3 and 1, in a small apartment in suburban Seattle, Washington. Mitchell said he scammed the system because, "I needed money; I had to support my family and I was new to the area. It was the only job I had."

Mitchell said ACORN threatened to close the office if he and his team didn't meet their quota to register 13 to 20 voters a day. So, without consulting their supervisors, he said, they came up with a plan.

what a bunch of nonsense.  again and again.  nothing EVER from obama about racism against whites.  typical division.  now we have more class warfare with his 95% plan.  why not just have one plan for everyone.  why must we continually divide.  is it any wonder business is leaving america?  companies are just holders of money to sue, rather than cultivate.

cultural suicide is just one pillar to rid the world of anyone not brown.  after that happens, anger will still be.  so much diversity to get rid of and homogenize.

basically, there is no way to resolve the differences the left will impose on the world's new minorities, hence revolution.  it's just working so well for chavez.
____________

here's some racism for you.

http://hamptonroads.com/2008/10/chesapeake-will-study-police-tests-after-no-women-blacks-advance

For the first time, those taking the lieutenant exam had an open-book portion of the test. The candidates had an hour to do it. But a proctor toured the room 30 minutes into the test and discovered that a majority of the candidates were less than halfway through the test, city documents show.

The candidates were given an additional 20 minutes to finish. Some argued that the extra 20 minutes was unfair to those officers who finished the test on time.

Officers who say it was unfair can take it up with their chain of command, said Police Chief Kelvin Wright.

Wright promoted several captains to majors last month. The department also created a second deputy chief position.

perhaps we should do the same thing with sports.  what is the correct racial demographics of the planet what with europe breeding itself out of existence?  don't they need some help?

i guess it works both ways.  if a horse refuses to drink water, it must be racism.

Why do we as a society feel we have to keep dumbing things down to allow more people to "pass."  I personally don't feel good knowing that there are some people out there who are supposed to protect society that only have their job because they were a black woman who couldn't pass the test so they made it easier for her in the name of equality.  What a joke.....

On a side note a group in Nebraska right now is fighting to end affirmative action in the state.

This would be a step in the direction of equal opportunity.

That would be one heck of a 2 min. drill.  If anyone could do it it would be Elway.

If Obama taxes the business that makes just over 250,000 and they will have to raise their prices to compensate for the additional tax.  That increased cost gets passed on to the consumer who ends up paying for it anyway.  Problems arise when you are in an industry like production agriculture and you can't raise the prices.

If everybody did what SD did--not just to waitresses, but to all Obama leaning people they do business with-- 8-10 times each day between now and the election we might actually motivate a few people to think this over.

I've heard it both ways on the 250K...  either way, it doesn't take a financial expert to figure out that isn't a very big business.  Add in the health care package Obama proposes and my world looks pretty grim if he gets elected and Congress goes along with his Socialistic ideas.

amazing how a spine of steel votes present, yet seems to vote for gun control and 4th term abortions.  i worry more about a gun control judge being appointed.  talk about voter suppression.  if you take away the public's ability to take back their government, it's over.  guys in the neighborhood seem to agree with this principle.  i agree more needs to be done.

here's some indication of spread the wealth and where it is fruitful or not, to try it.  obama thinks it will be difficult with the courts, since, they uh, rely on the constitution and property rights.

[T]he essential idea behind the Declaration – that we are born into this world free, all of us; that each of us arrives with a bundle of rights that can't be taken away by any person or any state without just cause; that through our own agency we can, and must, make of our lives what we will – is one that every American understands.

what's the just cause of taking away life liberty and the pusuit of happiness???????????????????????????????????????????????????????  socialism, which views property rights as wrong.

wow aj, it's only a democracy if the woman gets half a vote.  either you've done a fair amount of reading and are a better disguiser of source than i am or you hit the nail on the head serendipitously.
