I have been searching for a squeeze chute and was hoping for some help from Planeteers on what you like and dislike.  I have priced a Titan West chute w/palp cage and really seem to like the way it handles.  My vet uses a For-Most and I've had a few people recommend them to me as well. A couple ET guys I know say they couldn't live without their Titan.  I have about equal the number of people recommending each brand, so was wondering what you all thought of them and if one is "better" than the other.  I think they are probably both really great chutes, but I believe the Titan is more $$.  Thanks for your help and recommendations!

After doing alot of shopping and comparing, I went with a Formost model 450 for a stationary chute and a 350 for a portable. I really don't like the chutes that have upright bars on them that an animal can get a leg out through. I love my Formost chutes and don't miss the "leg breakers" at all. RW

I have a foremost and a stampede and I like the stampede the best.  The side door works better and cattle seem to flow through smoother.

Go with a Pearson, I have just almost every brand out there and none come close to the Pearson.

Definitely a Pearson.  I researched for over a year & examined just about every brand made.  The Pearson was top of the list on all requirements.  No bars to bang my head on, it squeezes both sides so no climbing the rails, & best of all I can operate it by myself.  It's worth every penny.  You can also get a set of load bars to set underneath for those of you weighing at weaning & yearling.

I have to agree with the stampede, we looked at all of the major brands out there for several years before purchasing and while they are more expensive than most of the others out there, in this case you really do get what you pay for.  The For-most was our second option and I don't think you can go wrong with that one either.  Don't know anything about the Titan chutes, we looked at the chute back when it was Linn and it didn't make our list, but don't know if they have made changes to it since then.

The place I worked at in college had a hydraulic Titan and it was very nice! But that's the only one I have ever had any experience with.

Been using my Preifert chute for the past 4 years and have used formost before that, like the priefert tons better.

I also loved my Priefert.  Specifically I loved the foot operated side open, foot operated squeeze, auto head gate, no bar handles on top to bang my head on, top and bottom of the sides opening easily in either small sections or several at time (made branding easy but I guess most on here don't brand), and a palp cage that opened from both sides and opened easily.  I've used Powder River on the ranch and love its heavy made qualities but it was over the top for my small operation.  I also worked my own cattle by myself and the Preifert made it easy.

I have used alot of different chutes but the one I have been most impressed with has been the titan equipment.  I purchased a Titan hydraulic chute a couple years ago and other than a slight cylinder problem with the neck extender I have had not any other problems.  I have used a lot of For Most equipment and it does the job, I just prefer to use something else.
