I know we all have used this site to ask questions, take polls, advertise calves and even poke fun at each other....but the neatest part for me is the people I have gotten to know through this site.  These are other cattle crazy people that I may have never met or talked with if I hadn't visited this site.

I met and spoke with MYTFarms from CO tonight.  He is a very intelligent young man with a very bright future in this industry.  I was not only impressed with his cattle knowledge, but his maturity speaking with me on the phone.  We have several young people that are going to take this industry to a new level and make us proud to continue to be a part of it!    I got to visit with Nasc this year at his fair, and meet Ohiosteerchick too.  This summer has been fun visiting with other steerplanet followers.  Oh....miss you Zach!!

Great talking with you tonight and I hope we stay in touch.  Good luck with your cattle and school this year!!!!

I've made several new friends(not easy for an Iowegian) through SP.    If you like cattle and cattle folks--SP can introduce you to a bunch of 'em!!    I've often thought that there should be an SP booth or area at the major shows(perhaps some of us could volunteer to man it) where everyone could relax and get in touch with other SP folks.  If we had an area like this we could have the SP members sign in when they get there and leave  some information on how to contact them at the show, etc.  We've tried getting together, with some success, by just posting when & where to meet but it hasn't always worked as well as it could.  It might also help to increase the membership of SP.  JMHO

LT, it was likewise as awesome visiting with you this evening. As you can see, I'm still keeping crazy teen hours. Doing record books for 4-H.  ::) I really appreciate your encouragement, and I have to say it looks like a very exciting year ahead. I still think SP should try a meet and greet at Denver again this year. Hopefully we'll have some prospect calves up there. I absolutely agree this site has put me in contact with some awesome people, and lasting friendships are being made.

I've met a lot of folks through steerplanet, and I gotta say they weren't too bad (even certain old Iowegians  ;D).

Cade, if you need help with those prospects at NWSS, don't be afraid to give me a shout.

Hey Justin! Ya, I actually need a loan of a few grand so I can get them bought.  ;) Seriously though, I'm gonna do my best trying to clip at least one of them, but if you get out here early, I'd love to have you gimme a hand clipping. I should have at least two good steers to bring, and maybe a heifer or two.

I haven't met alot of people face to face.  However, the people I have met are good people.  I had the pleasure of meeting Justin Olson this year and look forward to throwing him some work!  BTW, Justin if you read this can you PM me your phone number?  When I lost my phone in the State Fair Tie-outs I lost your number with it.

I met my all time best friend ever thru these cattle boards...Red.  Thru her I met some wonderful people.  Some are like sisters...Juli Nelson, Jill Allen, Julie Sylvester, Frostie, and cowz.  Only one I haven't met in my "little group" is frostie and I'll meet her someday!

I've met tons of you at the Royal and Iowa Beef Expo.  Hope to meet more!  I even met our past alien friend...they must have called him back to his home planet though...

Well you were invited to Iowa this summer!!! I understand why you did not make it though.
The thing with SP for me is I have met a lot of women with my same interest. I have lots of women friends local but they are not quit as into the pedigree and fitting of their kids calves as I am. Sometimes I dont have too much in common with them as the women on the site. Thing is on here your gender does not come into play as much as a face to face in counter. Some of the ol boys wont talk cattle to the women folk but on here sometimes you dont know the gender right away. Makes it a little more of a even talking field, which I like.

Last year was our sons first year showing cattle and I have made several posts and have got tons of help.  I'm a ranch raised gal myself but realize you never know everything and each day is a new one and can bring new knowledge.  Have several facebook SP friends but one in particular went far and beyond his call. Chambero actually visited our place and took a look at sons steers prior to show time for us last year, and had dinner with us.  Husband and I were amazed how nice it was of him to take time to do that for us!  Here's to you Chambero!!  Hope your year is going GREAT!

I know a few people on here. Not sure if I can remember who though, I know Hanna Cattle, Kanshow, Jill Allen, John Lynch, Rusty Williams, and probably some others. Also have the pleasure of knowing "OLD" Cowboy, and will be going to his place tommarow. Oh I also may know Justin Olson a little bit.  <beer>

I have to reply to this one for sure. I have never needed any help feeling "OLD", so to see it in print -- reality is sinking in !! hehehe ;D

I for certain have met alot of great people here. One thing alot fo you do not know is -- the largest part of my ET business as we speak is from SP members. There are 21 donors in the pen out side my window -- and all but 1 are from SP members - at least today. All of them are out of state cows too -- so the fact that I am in the wrong area seems more certain all the time.

I have some great friends here -- I do hope that my being "ME" has not put any adverse long term defects into play with any one, after all, once a Cowboy, always a Cowboy as they say.

I could make a list here -- but it would take too much bandwidth to print it. Hats off to every one, and I do mean every one! I can only hope that I Have made a positive impact on some of you who have needed input from me over the years, that is what it is all about.

Hope every one is having a great time on this the "CLUBBY WEEKEND OF THE YEAR"

This is big sale weekend. Can't wait to see what calves I ended up with. But I could stand to wait to find out how much money has flown out of my checking account.  ;)

There have been only a few on SP that I have had the pleasure to meet in person, but many that I've had contact with in one way or another.  The first day I registered, Red sent me a PM explaining to me who she was, and where we first met at an AJMAA National Show.  I just checked my PM and saw that I have had 197 conversations, many of those resulting in a phone call.  I couldn't begin to name all the great people I've met (over the phone) through this forum.  I think there are some 30 to 50 Planeteers who have told me they are using my Feed Ration or a close variation.  For an Ex Show Calf producer, this is a fantastic place to hang-out and reminisce.

I have meet many different people from here.  JIT, Kanshow, Stumpy, Mbar, Cows and her son, Oakbar, and many others.  One thing that I have noticed is all the "lurkers" that I talk to at shows that know me from here.

I have also met a number of SP people since I came to this site, and I now call many of them my friends. This site has a great group of people. I also am amazed at the large number of lurkers who read this site faithfully every day but do not comment, or haven't commented yet. I have had many people come up to me at shows and sales and ask me if I am JIT.
