You got that right-they had a very good red maine bull they used before the Angus that Brad Davis bought-Lynette Jane is the one that bred those cattle I guess up to this round-I had to put the calf nursing picture first- I don"t think an Angus could ever look like that crossed WITH ANYTHING but a Shorthorn with oldschool clubby in the woodpile:and LIKE IT OR NOT-THE TYPE OF GENETICS THAT BROUGHT THE BREED BACK TO LIFE FOR AWHILE.Not with a Simm, not with a Chi-probably not even with a Maine.I"d like to see some x-breds that come CLOSE TO THESE CALVES AT LESS THAN $2000 apiece.:and that have the GROW they have. Mark, that red Maine Anjou bull was a DJ Databank son that I hooked her up with about 10 years ago.

A friend of mine bought him a couple years ago he was good. Those hiefers are ideal to use an AngusxShorthorn coss bull on-or an onion head roan Shorthorn xcoss bull-I think Short Plus on Short plus would be a very good animal-especially coming from those cows. a x-bred Angus Short  bull out of your more conventional breeding would work like gangbusters:beacuse they would be basically non-related.I think the resultant calves would disprove alot of the projections concerning x breeding in general. You can take these commercial hiefers and show them too_O0

wow!...thanks for the comments guys! make a girl blush! you all have helped me and my little herd so much!  it all started with two little purebred shorthorn heifers I bought off here from scott, a purebred red maine bull registered 75% shorthorn from josh, then a cool heifer- bull trade with jeff that lead to a bunch more heifers (granddaughters in the herd now jeff!!!)...Quinton taking a chance on my bull too...grant ensuring my future breeding of purebreds (btw grant...I LOVE my angus x major Leroy girls!)...and brocks 24/7/365 help/advice line!!!  and mark!  got three heifers headed to florida now because of you!  thanks so much to all my steer planet buddies! you are the best!!!
