Which one?  The one with a 55lb bw is a TH carrier I believe can anyone set me straight on this???  Thanks

as I recall Jazzman is a carrier of the Outcast TH mutation - he was not originally tested for that TH mutation (vs the Improver deletion) because his pedigree did not suggest he needed to be tested for it - he did not verify to either the papered sire or dam -is that the one you were thinking of?

Which one?  The one with a 55lb bw is a TH carrier I believe can anyone set me straight on this???  Thanks_ hes th-and hes real thick-depends on the hiefer-nothing like a great one that shoulda been dirty but is clean-problem is-none of the performance cattle people have the guts to produce them-and thier cattle are getting pretty limited as far as diversity of genetics too-I did see where Sue mentioned I believe troubador-which would really work on those kind of cattle -and inject some frame and grow. O0

I would suggest Hillside Leader, the bull we purchased possession and half semen interest from the Bales Family in Tennessee. I do not have any calves yet, but the Bales family are very high on his calves. So far, all his calves have been born unassisted with BWs in the low 70s. Leader himself had a 70 lb BW and an actual WW of 666 and a YW of 1189, so he has some performance along with a low BW. So far, all his calves have been dark colored and polled. He is TH and PHA free as well.

We have semen at Hawkeye Breeders, Adel, IA as well as in Canada and Australia. Semen is priced in the US at $25 / straw in multiples of 5.

While we're obviously biased, to date Leader has done everything we hoped - low birth weights, very healthy vigorous calves at birth and it looks like they will grow adequately - in short, he's what we expect a calving ease bull to be.  We've only had one calf over 80 pounds and it was 10 days late.  Below is a picture of one of our most recent calves and she's very typical - sound and very correctly structured.  To date, all the calves have had the same basic skeletal make-up, with muscle and stoutness tending to mirror their dams.  We'll obviously know a lot more next spring when Grant has a significant number of calves born, but we're very pleased with what we've seen so far.

Conclusion: Must be a Waukaru bull

You right!  Sired by Waukaru Coppertop 464 from a Gold Mine 2109 dam tag 9052.  ADJUSTED birth weight of 74 pounds.  dam has never been in the chute except to preg check and vaccinate.  Used him on a few of the sale heifers for our September 18 sale.  I lost power after I posted the pic and never got back to the office.
