Well Canyon county finished on the 31. I didn't take any cattle to that one but I did take 11 rabbits and we did awesome
The week started out great. We weighed in on Wednesday that week and my rabbits all checked in with perfect health, the vet said they were some of the best she had seen.
Thursday was showmanship. I was the only one in my advanced senior class so I took Top Advanced Senior, then We did the Senior Runoff (top 2 intermediates, top 2 seniors, top 1 adv. seniors) and I took Top Senior Showman, Then we did the Overall Showman class (top 2 novice runoff showman, top 2 senior runoff showman, top FFA showman) I took the Top Overall Showman, I used my Broken Black New Zealand Doe Ella (first pic)
Friday I had to deal with a White doe with diarhea, because someone stuck something white and powdery in her feed. Yay took from 8 in the morning till almost 1 to get her cleaned up then had to do more cleanings throughout the day, this was stressing as we had a show the next day, she is white, and she is a mini rex (rex fur curls when wet), So we had fun but she came out fine the next day, luckily. I really hate when people do stuff like that esp. since my rabbits are on a strict show diet.
Saturday brought the Quality show, I was the runner for my superintendent until it was time for my first group Mini Rex to go up, bucks went first, only gonna do the top placings, My Black Mini Rex Buck took 1st so he stayed on the table to compete against the top doe. My white doe took 3rd or 4th cant remember, then my broken black otter took 1st doe, The broken black otter doe took Best oppisite sex of breed and my black buck took best of breed. Then my New Zealand doe went up she was the only one so she took Best of Breed, then My Rex doe Took Best of Breed out of 3. Then we did the crossbred class but my crossbred buck took 5th, the first red in the class, we were close but he needed more fullness to his Hindquarter. Then Came the Best in Show class. My mini rex buck placed in the top four which is really good cause each breed had a BOB and we had both tables filled with rabbits. Then came the Fur Classes. My Black Rex Buck took top colored rex fur, My white doe took top white rex fur, and my broken New Zealand took top commercial fur, there was a normal fur class and a wool class but he oly asked my 3 back for the overall, The New Zealand Doe took Best Fur, The Mini Rex Buck took Reserve Fur, and the Mini Rex doe took 3rd overall fur.
Throughout this process I had 4 other girls helping me to get all the rabbits to the table and standing with them through the class then taking them back and getting the next batch. it was fun but fast we started at 8 and ended by 12, but the judge was awesome. I could not have done it with out all the help of those girls. A big thank you to them
Sunday brought Round Robin. I did ok. I did best in Poultry ranking 3, then Dog ranking 4, then Cavy (guinea pig) ranking 5, then Rabbit ranking 8, then Pygmy Goat ranking 11, then Cat ranking 11, there is so much knowledge to learn and alot to learn about showing them. I ended up placing 9 overall. This was my first time in round robin.
9th out of geez probably over 100 kids, pretty awesome
Then we did the awards ceremony where I got my blue directors chair.
Then last but not least was check out, we got rained on, yeah that was fun, the rabbits were almost all in open wire carriers
In almost everyones oppinion my area was the nicest decorated with everything needed for Herdsmanship and my area was always cleaned before judging but not once did I win herdsmanship
oh well I will try again at Western which starts the 18 and goes till the 28, this includes 4H, Junior open, and open.
I'm taking maybe 21 rabbits and maybe 4 cattle.
I will have to find more pics of my winners later
