TH tested at this own expense bulls that he sold semen on - despite the potential for financial repercussions (after all selling semen on club calf bulls is something he does for $) and despite pressure and unhappiness of some bull owners - and he did this because "IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!". If you have a chance to talk to him ask him to tell you the story about how he made this decision.
Always has the time to talk to you about bulls, and provides honest assessment.
Provided TH and PHA information in his catalog and web site when it was not a popular thing to do.
He has my business forever! I don't have a lot of cows compared to some, but they are all AI bred only, and while some people collect porcelain figurines, I collect semen!

It didn't take me but an instant to nominate our own DL. Not only has she stood up in the discussions about TH and PHA, but she has offered free, honest, educated advice to all who has ask. And she has done it without reservation. She has also answered many questions that my own vet (just 30 miles away and charges a lot) was just too busy to answer. She has supported me and offered words of condolences  :'(and congratulations  (clapping). She has even guarded my backside a time or two!! ;D  She has been my sound-off board when needed.  She has become a great friend and she is someone I look up too. The world is a much better place with her around!

I agree with Show Heifer.  DL, you and I may not agree on PHAC animals and such, but it has not gone unnoticed of how generous you are with your time and information.  By the way, in my mind, DL does not stand for Dragon Lady.  It stands for Doc Lady.

I'm going to put all good hard working large livestock vets in that category! (clapping)
The ones that make the late night farm visits, the one that will help you get a cow in the chute when you're by yourself. The vets that go that extra mile to find out information for you or walk you through something on the phone when time is of the essence. The ones that if they don't know the answer will admit it but will try to find out later for you. The ones that aren't afraid to recommend you send your animal to the state vet school or hospital because they know you'll get more help there.
I'm lucky, I've got two in our area that I put in this class! To them I give a big thumbs up!

My original intention here was to reward breeders or specific providers of services so that others could avail themselves of those cattle or services (actually it was a perturpation of chambero's thought) but I certainly appreciate the sentiment and like the idea of widening the scope ....so I have two others to give awards to

I nominate Austin & Jason, the admin guys of Steer Planet

If it wasn't for these guys the PHA patrol, the amigoettes, the lovers of beefpacas, the changers of the Shorthorn breed, new showers & cattle lovers of all kinds would not have a great forum to visit.
