We have used him a little bit last year. Actually funny story we have a pretty cool red angus that was supposed to get bred to remington red label last year and I was gone so the neighbors at the dairy came and stuck the semen in her and well they must have read the code wrong and stuck her with Encore instead ( we figured this out after doing a straw count on everything) so we had a 1/4 red angus 1/4 angus 1/2 simmental heifer calf out of her last year and that was one heck of a calf then we had an F2 simangus bull by him last year as well. The attitude on that bull isnt the greatest but besides that he's pretty descent. good hip and plenty of length to his calves. Seems like this year we clicked real well with the two we have on the ground, just had another yesterday and is similar to the one pictured.

Since the Milkman and Who Made Who heifer, we have had a set of WMW twins - the heifer calf didn't make it through the night, but the bull calf survived. We also had a Rainmaker heifer that looks decent, she's black with some white on her udder and belly. Last night we had a red Sunseeker heifer that is hairy and soggy made. And this morning is probably the best calf yet, a Monopoly bull calf that is chromed up with white on his back legs. All of these were unassisted out of Angus cross cows.

4 heifers and 3 bulls. These are by far the best set of heifers we've ever had.

What were they out of?

Two Carneyman heifers out of angus cows, one is an Ohlde cow and one is out of G13 steel
One Black Joker heifer out of a Meyer grandaughter
A Shockwave heifer out of an Emblazon cow
The bulls include one Black Joker out of a Meyer grandaughter
Macho out of a commercial angus
Shockwave out of a commercial angus
Antoinettes Star out of an Anchor daughter.

Here's some of the first bunch we have here at the home place. All of these calves are out of our herd bull who is a BC Lookout on a Almost Famous/WMW cow. No AI calves due until April. I'll post individual pics of the calves at home.

those are some pretty thick calves!    (thumbsup) what's your herd bull out of?
He's a BC Lookout on a Almost Famous/WMW cow. He's registered Chi and 3/4 Angus by pedigree. This is his first calf crop and so far we are very pleased. The calves have come a little bigger than we like but I think they've been worth it.

Great looking calves. Nice natural thickness to them all. They look pretty consistent.

I had a Sunseeker first calf heifer calve 4 days ago. The calf is a heifer out of Silverias El Capitan and weighed about 65 pounds. My problem is the Sunseeker heifer seems to have very little milk. Her udder is wrinkled in the back suggesting size for expansion and her teats are normal size. The milk just seems to never have come in. The calf nurses, gets milk on its nose and is running around full of energy. My question is, "Is this typical of Sunseekers?" The dam of the Sunseeker heifer has a tremendous amount of milk. Any info would be appreciated.

Our vet has give a little Oxytocin. It will help the milk come in and contract the uterus. If that doesn't work. I don't know. Doesn't hurt to check with your vet. Usually oxytocin is good in the first day or so. You are little far out. YOu may have to supplement the calf with milk replacer if not getting enough.
