OK, money is unlimited & this is for you & your cows. What would you find in your stocking this year for your cattle operation? You have been very, very, good!

Red

For me it would be to finish the concrete pad for the manure & to install a watering system. I'd also like an indoor wash rack & cool room.

Well, the cool room would be nice, but this year I'm asking Santa for a new (to me, at least) aluminum trailer.

I actaully got my christmas gift already.  I have been wanting one for a couple of years and we finally broke down and bought one for each other.  It's the coolest salad shooter I have ever seen!  It grinds it up and shoots it out.  1000 rpm, triple hydraulics and can handle two 2000 lb. "heads" of alfalfa at a time!

oh wow! That sounds really cool! I read at ffirst a salad shooter & thought- for the cows? Glad I kept on reading.

I think I'd also get for the farm a new feed truck. The one now has a floor in the cab that you can see the road.

I have a long list of things I have dreamed of for years, many are every day things every one takes for grantid even.

We have stayed in business thru thick and thin, more thin than thick, for lots of years doing without things we really could use. After having to move here and there due to not owning our own place, here is what I would love to wake up to X-mas morning!

First -- Be more centraly located to service more people that do ET work in thier herd becasue they want to -- not because they have to in order to make the cattle bring enough to pay the bills. The western ranches we service are one income places mostly -- the cattle have to pay the bills. I love alot of my people, but some are just plain butts!

Secondly, be able to offer the customers better facilities than we have now -- a heated collection barn and office would be a real treat -- as we do the work in the house office - works great -- but not convenient some times.

Mainly -- not to have to look out and see just a few cows in the pens -- I would love to be able to decide WHO we deal with for once, not forced to take every non-paying butt head that comes along. We have some really good people, I would love to have more like them. It would be a thrill at times to be able to just say NO -- I don't want to do your work - you don't pay on time any way -- so why do it?? hehehehehe -- I could go on.

Meet more of the great people we have already met -- there are tons of you out there I would love to get to know in person.

Also, my family deserves more than me for putting up with my insesent (SP) desire to raise cattle. They have had to endure long periods with just the basics to survive because the money went into the cows. I would like to pay them all back with something nice for once instead of something for me. I know that sounds korny -- but I would enjoy that.

Also -- I would like to offer a free flush and freeze to some deserving but struggling young family. Seriously, I have wanted to do that for years. I don't have much to give, but one day I would like to surprise some young person or family and offer them my service for free just once -- to help them get started! Things like that will come back a thousand times over!

Sure we could use a better truck -- a nicer place - more money -- etc etc -- but all in all -- I like the thought of helping some one else -- it really grabs the heart ya know???

Merry X-mas to all -- have a great time with your family -- it truly is NOT about the money!

Awe Cowboy, you are truly the last of the great romantics.  That is a great sentiment and I know that you would do that for somebody in a heartbeat.  I think that Santa Claus will remember you this year.  I hope you get your wishes...ALL of them!!

A new barn... in it cool room, wash rack and horse stalls... a blower, maybe a blocking chute and large (completly stocked) show box  (lol).

I agree with cowboy, my family spends a lot on my habits and i would want something to give each of them in return!!!!!

A new nitrogen tank! My big tank went bad over the weekend. I check tanks every Monday morning, last Monday it had about 8 inches of nitrogen - this morning it was dry. Lost about $8000.00 in semen, some of it is nonreplaceable. What a way to start the week.
