Bump. Had some great input so far. Any more opinions? Also, Doc, could you PM some info on him like pedigree, progeny pics, semen price, ect.? I'd appreciate it.

Primo is a trump x desert rose 004 full sib to sullivan's solution, cate's bloodstone, and hahn's big & rich bulls. he is syndicated and i don't believe semen is on the open market. however the owners are often willing to throw in a couple straws when u buy females from them. i saw him two summers ago at trans ova and he is quite impressive, i still preffer solution to primo and big & rich (haven't seen bloodstone) primo has also been accused of not breeding as consistantly as solution and bloodstone, however that is mostly due to the fact that primo was used on a wider variety of cows and cow types than solution and bloodstone who are bred almost exclusively to the "best" cows in the breed, so i suppose you could make the argument that he is more proven on the fact that there should theoretically be more calves out of him out of different types of cows. with all that being said when it all boils down the best solutions bloodstones and primos are all great cattle and you would be satisfied to have any of them

Thank you for the info, especially  about the semen info. I may just get some heifers and kill two birds with one stone.  ;D

i think the best route for making clubbies is to get the most non clubbie cows you can find, not saying junk cows just not all mixed up, you would be better off with a high percentage cow and you wouldnt have as many soundness issues. just my take on it  <cowboy>

Thanks zach, that makes sense. I've got mostly cows that run 90% Angus or more, so that's a pretty solid base to start off with.

I would breed some of those angus cows to WHO MADE WHO ,and some higher % maine bulls and keep heifers out of them. Then breed those females to say a HEATWAVE for clubby calves.

You don't need "clubby cows" your Angus will work just fine bred to clubby bulls, Heatwave, Sunseeker etc.
