really nice looking steer. he could use some more in his middle third. if i were you id start feeding him all the beat pulp and depth charge he will eat! But still a  nice steer.

He's got some things I like, but would definantly like deeper bodied and have some more rear flank.

do like said about feed.  they will fill out with fat and appear deeper and bolder with more fat as fat is laid down from the front to the back.

he looks like he might be a tad stiff, which might just be due to his muscle mass.  where those muscle bumps are on his back, i would stick my thumb in them and hold hold it for 10 seconds or so to loosen him up.

i had a black steer almost identical to this lots of muscle no guts this one is more balanced .. do as said beet pulp and lots of roughage let him eat alot of hay thats when my steer looked the best is when he had a round bale haha overall he should be a nice steer in the end

whats his pedigree?

Thanks for the thoughts on the steer.  He is weighing about 850# right now and we are starting to push the beet pulp and depth charge.  He is a Yellow Jacket out of a Heat Wave cow, my daughter raised him.
He looks pretty bulky in the pic, my daughter slick sheared him at the beginning of summer to get rid of the baby fuzz.
