What a great looking calf! The moment I looked at these pictures it put a smile on my face, and I'm sure yours too. It's the little things like a newborn calf you have been long anticipating that makes the cattle business so great! I once had a hog guy tell me he didn't have the patients to raise cattle. I'm glad your patience paid off.

YEs the little critters have a way of making you laugh and smile. Especially the first day we turned her and mom back outside on lot the things they do ;D. The long awaited pregnancy paid off. We are thankful.

OH Breeder!!

Awesome Leader heifer!!
Let me know if she is available for sale this fall!!! Seriously!!!

I have my first calf out of my Leader 21st bull this past weekend.  I am very very pleased with the first one--
He has a butt on him a mile wide and was  83# for a BW.

Just waiting for the other heifers/cows to calve more of his calves and then I will try again to start a post of pics.

Nice little heifer you got there!! What are you plans for her? You going to keep or sell? If she turns out like her mother you will have a great down the road. I hope you post updated pics of her as she grows!!  <beer>

First....I know Zach is just poking fun. Its related to a private conversation we had. No biggy! ;)

Second- thanks for the positive feedback. I wasn't quiet sure what we were gonna use on her. But we took on chance on gus. I knew he had some more frame to him than some and thought the mix might work. I think it worked for what we want. He lengthened her out a bit and added some frame. Doc knows this cow very well and has zero issues with calving etc. We did give a little tug but it was because her forehead was stuck.Momma is a milking machine. Baby is as pretty in person as she is in pictures. She has some body and thickness to her as well. I will keep you all posted on how she develops. I have a Leader granson she will probably be bred back to for a different twist. Can't say we won't just AI her back the same way either. She came right on her due date from AI.

89#s but it was rough trying to weigh her. Momma is pretty protective.
