My dad was using one of those post drivers &  his hands slipped.  It came down & got both of his thumbs between it & the post.    He was quite a sight with his two broken thumbs.

I guess my hubby might have won the award. When he was 15, he was riding on the hood of a pickup. They were just screwing around in a field. He fell of & was dragged & run over. He broke his back in several places, ruptured his spleen & suffered from some serious burns.
He's a paraplegic now but w/ the aid of leg braces & crutches manages to get around fairly well. He drives w/ aid of hand controls & most of the farm machinery have been adapted for his use. They've put special ladders on the combines & even a hydraulic lift for the sprayer. I don't think there has been many times when he has said I can't do it or played "poor little me" card.

I have chipped off a front tooth by opening and trying to go through a gate that only swings one way. Every time I go through that gate, I remember what happened -- 20 years ago!  Today hubby tired to lift a huge grain tub that we were augering feed out of. He somehow hurt his back and cannot even walk now. One of those things you ask yourself, Why did I do that?, after the fact!!!

Was drilling wheat one wet year and had to have two tractors around. One to drill with and one to pull myself out of the mud. I used a cable with a chain and hook attached, Was rolling up the cable on the flat bed of pickup and gave the last of it a flip and the chain and hook came at my face. The hook hit me right above the nose. Man did that hurt. Didn't knock me out but I was alone several miles from home and it almost knocked me out.
