my cows are in love with the infant rice cereal.
somone had a box down in our FFA barn and my cow got into it one night when she got out. now if i put some in my hand she'll lap it up, not to mention do whatever i want!

it's got b12 in it too so im all for that, lol

My steer just goes wild for the Luck & Love carrot horse treats. Carrots...My steer loves carrots. Apples, cut into sections (I guess its a choking hazard to eat them whole).

I too would be interested in spoiling him some more...So keep the great ideas coming!

Growing up we had a huge Pear tree. The cows would stand under it and wait for them to fall. They had no problem eating them whole. Not that you shouldn't cut them up.

We just use plain old Range Cubes that you buy in a 50lb bag at Orschelns.  Also Canola leaves.  They LOVE them.

I'm cheap. I pick orchard grass and leaves and feed it to my heifers (they love it though). We've feed them turnups before too and they seemed to like them. A friend of mine cuts up apples into small pieces and feeds them to his steers all the time.

Mine seem to like orange kool-aid pretty well for a drink so they'd probably eat pieces of oranges if you'd feed it to them.

We throw all of our corn shucks and matermelon rines across the fence and the cows always go crazy.  They also seem to like freshly cut grass. I don't know why, but they do.

Except since the grass in your lawn is probably much shorter than the pasture grass, your lawn clippings are much higher in protein and much more palatable to the calves.

I started feeding one of our steers melatonin with a bolus gun morning and night. I added strawberry jelly with it and now the calf will eat the drug along with jelly out of your hand, but we are getting low on outdated strawbeery flavored jelly and have noticed some apricot in the fridge that is getting old.
