Has anyone had any calves out of Dream Catcher the simmy bull? Did you get a lot of baldies and what were the birth weights like?

I have had a few, all by Angus cows. Never had to touch one, although a couple of the bull calves last year were mid 80-90 pounds. Heifers have been under 75 and come real easy. I love the females, very few simmental bulls will put a front end in their calves like Dream Catcher does. Out of Angus cows we have had about 50% baldies. We are showing a nice blaze faced heifer this year that we really like. Beautiful fronted, deep bodied and has real nice hair. I will continue to use him.

well thats what we were wanting to throw him on was an angus. I have read where he was calving ease so we thought about breeding him to an angus heifer but I wanted to hear other opinions. Thank You

I have had good luck with him, and used the 2ml sexed semen, I'm 2 for 2 on baldy heifers...

I happened to request a list of available sexed semen from Cattle Visions the other day and they still had sexed dream catcher available....


FYI- I am not connected to the bull or the semen dealer...

If dream catcher is used on a pb Simmental cow that is thick and powerful will the calf give up some of that to get the nice front end?  How do his calves do in the show ring?

I haven't used him on simmy cows, so I really don't know. He has been very popular-I would advise you to give Werning's a call. I know his sons sell really well in their sale(as does everything else and his daughters really make good cows. I just think he is a good all around bull, I have seen really nice high% females out of him, but don't know the dam side of the equation.
