We just had a Walks Alone bull calf on Sunday morning (out of a big framed 1/2 shorthorn cow). He was well over 100 lbs (I believe my husband actually weighed him and he was 117 lbs.). He may very well end up to big and framey, but has good bone, good thickness and good hair. A relatively easy pull once he was in the correct position (he started out with his head twisted backwards). He is out in pasture now with the other calves, and so far is walking pretty good. This picture was taken at 7 hours old.
I saw him for myself and will stick to my guns, he's pretty small. They don't have to be huge for me, and he seems to sire them with enough size but he's a little fella.
We have a Walks Alone X Ali bull calf that just gets better, and better. This is by far her best calf ever. Born unassisted, thick, deep. He's an eye catcher, and sound as can be. We will use him again, no doubt. I will post pictures of him, if this weather ever straightens out.
