I am looking for a salty 3/4 blood Maine heifer for a girl in TX...  This past two show seasons she won her class at Ft. Worth and Houston and was champion maine or grand overall at about 6 or 8 jackpots in TX and OK.  It is this girls Senior year, and her parents would like to buy a heifer that can compete nationally.  No reserves, no flushes held back, no future DNA or Clones, no BS.  We buy in full.  You can get credit for raising or selling; the residual will be held for the family.  When the heifers show career is over she will be resold.

Let's see what a true competative market place looks like.    GO!

well.. it is your business... and I don't have the heifer on the ground that meets your needs... but I am trying... but... if I did she would be the best high percentage Maine I have ever raised....

If you were me would you want to sell outright the best female you have ever raised?

I have been going to MCF and GVC sales a little the last few years and both of them keep back some flush interest

It seems to me you would have a better chance to get a great one and a better value if you were willing to work with the seller... why would you care if you had to split flushes with the seller?

Yes I would and do sell the best females I've ever raised, year after year.  Then I flush my cow and retain a few full siblings while cleaning up on someone elses hard work and good fortunes.  Then I use their winning banner photo as advertisement such as the Breed Champion Simmi at the OYE and the Breed Champion Maine at the OYE, both have full brothers and sisters in our herd.  Res Champion Steer Tri State Fair in Florida, sold for $10,000.00. Full sisters, brothers and frozen embryos available now.  I'm just trying to help a good friend find a better than average heifer for his senior in 2012 girl.

So what your post ment to say was.......I wish I had a heifer good enough to sell you, instead I'll sit here at my computer petting Toto and thinking of something increadibly off the subject to discuss with someone I don't even know. Thanks Dorothy, I hope others have enjoyed the chat.

That is hilarious. LOL. The way I see it Mcpeak is doing it the way I would want to do it. Agree, cut out the crap. Is she is sold after her show career, buy her back if you want a piece of her. Good luck in your search, often times that is as much fun as anything.

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me.  We are still looking for that 3/4 to PB Maine-Anjou heifer.  In a perfect world she would have been born in the Spring of 2010 but we have looked closely at a couple of fall 2010 borns.

Keep the calls coming, I know the right one for us is out there, good home, good feeders, good fitters;  Just need that good calf.

Thanks
McPeak

Mr. McPeak,

We have 3 very nice heifers that might possibly work for you as well as several good steers.  They have been on full feed since March 5th and are halter broke, sound, hairy, and gentle.  They are good honest home grown calves looking for good homes.  We are located in SW Oklahoma near Altus and would be glad to show them to you.  Please feel free to reply here or PM for more info or to set a time to see the calves.

Thanks,
