I wonder if it could be possible that someone hacked his web site and put that picture up?

I would love to believe that but that was not the case. When a couple of different people contacted him about the calf just to see what his response would be he tried to sell the calf. He even knew who the sire was because I had that listed on Facebook the only he got wrong was the age by one month. So this was no accident or someone hacked his web site. He was very well aware of it and then even changed his story to say he was selling it for someone else and the name he gave he was selling it for was not mine. Bottom line his he never had my permission to use my picture and he had every intent on scamming potential customers. Hope he learned a lesson and will try to be honest next time he tries selling a calf.

perhaps this is just what steer jockeys do except this time they just did it on the net.

aren't they always trying to set up deals even though they might not have a calf purchased?

these people seem to like to pay peter to pay paul.

All he has to do is put a disclaimer on his page that the cattle pictured are "representative" of what he has to offer.  Im sure theres a zillion calves out there that are bred and look very similar.

That would be the right thing to do if your going to use pictures of animals that do not belong to you.

All he has to do is not use pictures of other people's calves, not lie to people when they call asking about calves he doesn't own and not be a dis-honest cattle man that gives the whole industry a bad name.  Won't be long people will start saying show calf sales man instead of used car!!!.   Fine print is for lawyers and used car sales men not honest cattlemen.

"Bait and switch" which is considered fraud, a tattic that was employed by both used car lots and even department stores. You go to buy X and they only have Y.

Tonight I was just looking at several different cattle web sites and I as I was looking at this one site in Texas I see a familiar picture under calves for sale. It is my heifer!! This is a heifer born this fall at my barn and is still at my barn in Florida! I like to post pictures of our calves on Facebook because its a great way to reach potential customers but I have found out it is also a great place for people to steal your pictures for their own use. Lesson learned always watermark your photos and never trust what you see on the internet when buying calves!
Ok let me say I appoligize for for Posting a picture of your heifer. The jpeg number i thought was mine. I removed it as soon as it was brought to my attention.
But you never called me and said it was yours.
I really dont know how to use this board so I will answere every post

I have tried contacting the person. Want to hear what they say before making their name public but if you want to know send me a message and I will let you know. I don't know what the laws are about doing this but since posting about it on FB I have heard from other people having the same thing happen to them. So when you post photos on FB make sure your name or logo is on it because it is easy for anyone to take your picture and use it as their own. This person was a FB friend and a couple of months ago he posted my picture in his FB and I said something and he just said he really liked my heifer. I have unfriended him and never gave him another thought until I saw it on his web site tonight. Did not even know it was his web site until tonight.   It is strange seeing my calf for sale on someone else's web site.
Thats not true, i never said that.

Just found out that some of the other calves on his site do not belong to him and he is advertising them as his and even stole a video of a calf from Youtube that was already sold in another sale!! WOW what a liar!
Well your statement is simply not true, i text messaged you that video and it was not stolen off Youtube, I purchased three calves off that sale and did not change the pictures or videos, They were really good calves from a good breeder and im not trying to say i raised them.
Two of them have been resold to a great family here in Texas and One of them(Mind That Bird) was resereve champion last weekend in Henderson Texas.
The Eye Candy Steer is still for sale.
