I was wondering what everyone would do with a wart that on the inside of the ear of a heifer. I would like to show her middle to end of March.  It is not a type of wart that is on the body it actually looks like a mushroom (kind of). should I call the vet or is there something that I could do myself to it. I did post a picture. I left it alone because I thought it would fall off but it hasn't. Thanks

yes, rip it off, get a bolus gun and make them eat it.  Interesting about the Dr Scholls, haven't tried freezing..

I have never fed the warts to my cattle but, rather than pulling it off, place her in a chute/squeeze , restrain the head and cut the wart out with scissors.  Put iodine over the wound. It will bleed bad so if Flys are present use fly spray as well.  This likely came from contaminated tattooing equipment.  Good luck.

What he/she said. Get the best scissors that you have in the house. It will be the quickest, least painful for your calf.
It is a good idea if possible to feed it if you will to the calf beings warts are caused by a virus, therefore making it a type of vaccination, but if you don't want to, the calf probably already has started an immune response to the virus strain that is causing the wart.
