Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Paddy calves?  I was looking at a couple calves today, we never had any Paddy calves so I was wondering how they  grow and how the temperment of them are?

Thanks for any information that you can give...

I've got a Who heifer out of a Paddy cow that's dog gentle. Late bloomer, but comin' on nicely now, really getting that cool brood cow look to her (thumbsup).

I saw an Identical pair at a county fair two nights ago. Both were moderate in frame and really wide well made calves. Their biggest downfall that I've heard about paddy calves is that they don't cover quite as well, but they have excellent carcasses. A paddy calf won the carcass contest at that same year prior and had a ribeye area of 19.2, graded choice high, and only had 1/10 backfat.  I'm planning on using him in the future after what I've seen.

They are beautiful looking bred, but all of ours had small pelvis.  Had to cut everything out of them.

We have a couple of Paddy cows and they have been great cows. They are very gentle and my kids had a lot of fun showing them when they were young. They were very hairy when they were young and as mature cows plus their calves have been hairy and gentle.

I have a Paddy heifer that I really like. She was very competitive in the show ring and grew hair like nuts. She was a little crazy when we were breaking her but ended up being a baby by state. Over all a very good calf!

Love them, no problem calving mine out last year, she had the calf on her own and was a first timer, her heifer by ali is freaky haired and awsome tempered.

Last year son had two steers and one heifer all sired by Paddy.  Heifer placed first in most all classes he showed her in and just a few weeks ago had first calf unassisted (bred to Copyright).  Excellent heifer calf and very correct.  Steers did well, gentle as dogs and hair like crazy on all.  Steers got a little too big or would have done better I think.  Overall they were great calves, but big eaters!
