Curious of what you guys think of this bull. Anyone used him? Would live to see calves that anyone may have. Thinking about breeding my 3yr olds to him.

Looks like a solid choice. link attached below

Thanks I've seen the select sires page. Just curious on any additional info I could find on him, others imputs etc.

I have not used him personally. When I purchase Angus semen I'm almost always looking for CE bulls and I had a very, very good Angus clean up bull. I used Bennett Fortress on this year's 1st calf heifer crop, by that I mean the heifers that were born in 2016. Very happy with what I have for calves out of him. I have good conception rates in general with Select bulls.

I haven't used him. But the bextor cows I have seen I liked. Also we have bought a half a dozen or so black granite sons and really like them they are very consistent from breeder to breeder. But if you have feet problems I believe that he will speed the process along with Bismarck in the background. Black granites imo tend to be shallow heeled and will need to be protected on that.

We used him across the board on heifers and cows so I should have a pretty good read on him by this time next year.

So you say his feet aren't the greatest? That's the kind of info I need to know thank you. So need to make sure the cows have great feet to help make sure he doesn't weakin them further?

I am not saying they ar not good he may be a foot improver. I am just saying that cattle in his background haven't done my cattles feet any favors.

I wouldn't be terribly scared of his feet.  Bismarck's aren't great in general but lots of his progeny are fine and Black Granites have been far better than Bismarcks in that regard.  As always use any new bull with caution though.  They haven't built a perfect one yet.
