I have traveled all over this year looking at babbies. The same old bulls are still gitting it done.  This year i located 40 to 50 that really caught my eye and  I'm checking to see if anyone else has seen some EYE CANDY calves or has used him. His steers calves were real hairy and thick but his heifers still look like heifers. Tyson is the only other sire that calves really impressed me.

The Eye Candy's I saw were too small and compact for my liking, but they were hairy and big boned.  I really really liked the Monopoly's, and we're going to use him some next year. We've never used HW or any of his sons before, so it's kind of a big step for us into the clubby thing.  Ace of Diamonds and JPJ were the best Shorthorn sire groups.

really like the way eye candy makes them soft middled and hairy.  His females ought to be great.  Also liked naughty pines, heat waves, monopolys, carnacs, and dirty harrys.

Everywhere we went this year Monopoly,Ace of Diamonds calves are the only one's that could come close to matching or exceeding the Heatwave's.

I was 50/50 on the monoply calves i thought their were just as many sosos as good ones, not doubt i will keep using Heat Wave or the clones.
but only on tried and tested cows. I think he misses just as good as he hits.
Hear of any bulls that are working on Heat Wave cows? I have a couple that milk enough to keep a calf alive for four months.
I had my first PHAF CALF this year and she carried it full term.....all the way to death for both........attached is a photo.

A cow that needs some bone added and level out her hip she is a little round in her hip. Wht bulls would work best. She is a wild card X meyer 734. What is the best bull?

The Monopolys I have seen were flat good and JPJ has been good for us. I will be using those two plus maybe Alias and Primo.

I saw a few My Turns, they consistently had that easy feeding look. The steer at Y-Not's cattle was awesome in person. Moved well. Think we might give him a whirl. We also tried our first Dirty Harry this year. Really like the female pretty fancy impressed. Shorthorn, the bull tha surprised me the most was Eldoraldo of Greenhorn's. Lots of good calves out of him for a young bull. CF Epic saw very few but used on some great cows and they were pretty nice.

definitely cant go wrong with HW or the clones, however I believe to start expanding things you look to Monopoly for a more functional fat steer prospect and Yellow Jacket to get the hair, bone and everything else you need.
