We have a I am Legend heifer that is so short she can pass as a miniature club calf. She is very thick, deep, big boned and has hair like a yak but never grew. She has all the right parts and we have a lot in to her so I hate to take her to the market. I thought we would try an breed her to see what we get before giving up on her. What bull out there would add a lot of frame? Of course I need calving ease right now since she is a heifer. Now if there becomes a market for miniature club calves I have the perfect heifer! ;)

I would consider using Friction after going with calving ease bull on her first calf.  Being out of Full Flush, Friction should  help add frame to her offspring.  I have seen where he has really worked on a few different cows that  some people would consider are extremeley moderate framed.  Kroupa Donor 159 (Mojo x Char.) would be one in particular that is a really small package that has hit a home run with the Friction.  That mating has resulted in bulls like "Grey Goose", "White Noise", "Hangover", and some really good show steers and clubby heifers as well.  I know semen is getting hard to find but if you can get your hands on some, I'd give it a try if your female is that small framed.

Just how small are you calling small frame? Frame score 0, or smaller? Is there a way we can see a pic? I always have my eyes open for really little ones that are flat good and not just little rag-a-muffins. Thanks and have a Happy Easter

Mini cattle are considered mini cattle at 38 inches at 3 years of age I believe.  Not sure just what frame score that is but very small cattle. A lot of the Miniature Herefords can get into that 000 frame score. Thats for real life little.

Every sale we went to this year had bred heifers that have this look. If I were you, I think I would hang on to her!

Here's a couple of pictures taken back in Nov. I will try to get some more updated pictures this week and I will measure her to see what her hip height is. She has grown since the pics but still real short. She will be a 1yr old this month. I would be interested in selling her someone was interested in a short heifer but if not we will try breeding her to something that will add frame. She's a nice heifer just she was taller so I really want to make sure she is bred to something that will add frame. I do feel a little about her after hearing that some people have had luch with short ones. Thanks

Hang on to her, breed her to Total Solution, then Friction or his daddy Full Flush,if still not satisfied try Foreplay. If all the calves are good but too small for you, call and I will buy her for 100.00 over market price. If you keep her that long you won't sell her,if she milks.
