my first steer is still my friend! after years of showing together, i decided to keep him.
he is a holstein-jersey cross named Jabes that i bought as a bottle baby. him and two others were the first calves i bought with my own money as a kid. we showed 4H and when i age out instead of selling him i decided to keep him. taught him to let me ride him, saddle and everything. he’d do everything i asked.
at home he would always scream and cry and i could never figure out why until he would quit when i came around - he was always crying for me.
very special boy… so happy i got to keep him as a forever friend
