We are pretty proud to call this guy our very first show steer to ever raise and sell. For those of you that are going to Fort Worth he might be there. He won reserve breed champion at our county show yesterday. Can you please give me your opinions- good and bad?

Thanks,
Jordan

Wow..this is cool, i had a Warhorse steer that looked just like him about 5-6 years ago.  I won the ND State Fair Junior show with him.  My steer was shaggy and had alot of hair just like this one too.  The only difference I think in the two is I think my steer was a little nicer fronted, not saying this steer is Leather fronted but saying it could be nicer.  But i respect the front end for being like that in a fat steer.  He shouldn't be quite finished yet though.  Up here we like ours to be finished at about 1350-60.  But nice overall steer.  And my steer that looked like him was Champion Point steer also.

He's nice, congratulations! I know it's exciting :O)
What's he out of?
I agree he could use another 100 or so pounds. He's a little high in the flank and could use a little more gut for his frame size. Hope you get a lot of money for him!!!!

Thank you for all of the feedback. His sire is ALM Surf and his dam is out of a double stuff daughter. He was out of a first calf heifer. Unfortunately, this steers dam was killed 10 days before she was supposed to have her second calf. The calf would have been out of Jeff's shorthorn bull Wild Side.

Thank you for all the feedback and opinions! We are just thrilled that he has done so good and grown into what he has. Just for fun I will post a picture of him when he was 3-4 months old. I will keep you updated on the shows and how he does  :).

Thanks,
Jordan

He ended up winning breed champion shorthorn at one of our stock shows here in Texas. We were so proud!! The family that had him did a GREAT job. Thank you SP for your support and comments!
