BARE MR YOU TUBE 4Y came off my 4-H cow and has done very well in the showring this summer and fall. He comes from an awesome momma and has made friends everywhere he's been. This April he'll be with a small group of females and there should be some very exciting matings! You Tube will be at the World Hereford Conference in Olds, Alberta this July and got an early invite to the Agribition Hereford Sale where I plan to sell him.  Any opinions on You Tube are welcome!

have you collected him?  otherwise, i'm wondering why you are selling your herd bull, before you really get to use him?

I only have 4 females and 2 are related to him. I'm going to breed two females plus a few of the neighbor's heifers to him this year then I'll probably sell most of him and either retain a small interest or collect semen beforehand and sell full interest.

It's been three years since I posted this and I have nothing better to do so I thought that I'd post a little update today. I'm very grateful that nothing but good has come from raising and selling this bull.

Since this post:

-You Tube was named the Reserve Champion Senior Yearling Bull at the World Hereford Conference in 2012.
-He was the high seller at our National Hereford Sale at Agribition 2012. I sold a 3/4 interest and full possession.
-Shortly after Agribition Moeskaer Polled Herefords in Denmark purchased the European Union semen rights and have been marketing semen there.
-In 2013 he was named the Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Bull at the Canadian Junior Hereford Bonanza six days after getting home from being collected for months at Alta Genetics.
-Last year he sired the National Heifer Calf Champion for NCX Polled Herefords at Farmfair International and the high selling Hereford Heifer for Standard Hill Livestock at their Sale in March.
-This spring NCX Polled Herefords walked him in May and June and then Standard Hill Livestock purchased possession and You Tube bred their late calving group.
-In August a You Tube bull calf from Bararp Hereford in Sweden was selected by Galtås Hereford as their "Pick of the Herd" and they plan to show him this fall at their national show.
-This summer he sired the calf shown at side of the Canadian Junior Hereford Bonanza Supreme Champion Female.

Quite a track record-Ive seen CANADIAN Shorthorns, Angus, and Maines-but the Herefords in these pictures take the cake as far as being.E.Z. keeping looking. Where do they come from? They just don't look very much like the US Herefords Ive seen-other than Maybe some of the Starlake Cattle. O0

I have always been impressed by this bull and I really loved him when I saw him at Agribition back in 2012. It is no surprise to me that he has become an excellent sire. He is definitely the kind that should be widely propogated.  Congratulations for raising such a good one!

I really appreciate the positive comments!

Thanks for your comment Mark. We are located in North Eastern Alberta. If you're ever in the area stop in for a visit. I grew up being taught that cattle should work for you, not you for them and I'm happy that I learned that from a young age- it sure cuts down the feed bill!

Okotoks- I was very pleasantly surprised when his new owners posted that Facebook post. I've added a picture of that bull as a calf at Agribition below. He's really changed from the ball of fluff that he was last fall!

I've also added a picture of the yearling You Tube heifer that I will be showing this fall. She still has a ways to go but I'm excited to take her out.

I thought I'd update this post for anyone following it.

Below is a picture of You Tube taken in January 2016 at Standard Hill Livestock and two of his first daughters to come into production at NCX Polled Herefords.
