What is there left to breed to for Simmys?????

IMO there is nothing out there to breed to for simmys.  My herd has significant influence of dream on, powerstroke, and meyer.  If you go back a ways, everything is either x339u/c339u/black max.  The bulls I see these days are the same tune.  Good none the less, but the simmental breed needs some different stuff.  If someone developed an outcross bull that would work on dream on/meyer/powerstoke females that person could write his own ticket.

Go to Hudson Pine Farms and Leachman. both have some sires that are of varied backgrounds. Cattlevisions has quiet a few simmi's that are out of the ordinary.

We have good luck with the Leachmans GW  Lucky Charm which is a Lucky Buck out of a 600U cow.  I have seen some smoking good calves out of that bull!  If you go to www.lwachman.com and look at their sale catolog there are some pics of the bull all the way almost in the back along with ofcourse pics of his sons and daughters.  The first 7 lots were all LC and we are probably going to AI to the lot 2 bull.  That whole fist pen of bulls was flat out awesome!  They also have a bull called Hooks Shear Force.  He had some good calves too, but the LC were better.

Nitro, TNT Hummer, Mo Better, GCF Aces of Fortune, SAC Mr MT, PVF-BF Black Joker, HL Kaboom,  Harts Four Lane, Sand Ranch Hand - to name  a few...        You could also go back and use some older but still available bulls like Ellingson Black Perfector

ETA:  I forgot about the Luckys...  We have some Lucky Break cows that have been in the herd for several years and they out do themselves each year.

There were several around our area who used him because I saw quiet a few bulls go thru bull sales this spring.  They seem to be nice cattle and were well recieved money wise.

I was out at Leachmans sale and saw a bunch of Shear Force calves.  They were nice and I wouldn't discourage you from using him.  We however are going to stick with Lucky Charm.  We liked the way the LC cattle looked a bit more.

Hooks Shear Force was very well recieved by cattlemen, both commercial and purebred because he is a calving ease specialist.  Cant go wrong with him...I can tell you that.  There were no bad calf reports known of.
Ebony's Trademark is a bull that was bred, and is being pushed to breed to Dream On females.  He sires incredible structural soundness, vigurous calves, and moderate BW (80lb range.)  He is definately another choice for your list...he is also black and sires white faces.  Hetero black, homo polled.

None of my simmentals are related to Dream On, Powerstroke, or Meyer as far as I know (unless it's really far back).  ;D

I really like my heifers. They have good muscling and do well in their shows, plus they awesome temperments. They don't have the best known bloodlines in them but their grandsire is SAC Mr MT. They're bred to a bwf son of CCR Ameritrade. I look forward to seeing their calves.  I also bought two more half sisters from the same bull.

IMO, some people are breeding the meat out of their cattle. I like black simmentals but I like them to actually look like simmentals.
