Tim Ohlde said last week as we were standing out in the rain looking at some pretty nice smaller framed cattle, that femininity traits stopped right behind where the head hooked on to the neck.....Now you have to see his cattle to appreciate that statement... Problem is that soo many people pick traits that they believe to be "feminine" and they are really not..The only real feminine trait that means anything at all is FERTILITY.....That being said long angular necks are not a true feminine trait if you measure cattle, long necks lead to poor balance which inturn decreases rear flank girth and heart girth and that leads to poor fleshing abilityand a glandular system that is all out of wack which leads to a lack of fertility... kind of explains why so many flashy pretty goosey fronted show heifers suck as cows!
