What kind of trailer hitch do you prefer for Gooseneck trailers and why?

Looking to upgrade from a steel bumper pull trailer to a gooseneck (16-18 ft aluminum).  In looking at used trailers we have a choice of 2 currently - one has a fifth wheel hitch, the other has a gooseneck hitch ball.
Wondering what folks recommendations are....is there a big difference?  Anyone trucked with both to compare?
Any info or opinions are welcomed....

TIA

Gooseneck.  So much more versatile.  They are also cheaper than installing a fifth wheel hitch.  With the B&W hitch you can have your bed back in a minute.  B&W does offer a fifth wheel hitch to fit their mount that goes under the bed.

I would recommend a gooseneck hitch ball.  A fifth wheel hitch takes up a lot of bed space.  If you get a hide away ball or popup ball you can continue to use you truck bed like any other truck bed when not hauling.

Thanks for the comments.....seems to be what folks I've asked are saying!  Now we know what direction to head.
