I got some 3/4 blood Simmental cross cows, looking to try and make some show steers. what are your thoughts on bulls to use?

I've been using higher % Maine bulls. If you got some reds some of the Char cross bulls work real good too.

That Maine deal with a shot of Simmi has always been a good cross I feel. Good luck

Some of my best cows now in production are either Monopoly or Walks Alone out of SimAngus cows.  The cow in this photo is a Monopoly out of a Nichols Black Destiny 3/4 SimAngus cow.  The calf is a yellow Repo and the cow is bred back the same way.  No Apologies has also worked on my SimAngus cows.

Thats a sweet looking little calf PTR, makes me want to look into using Yellow Repo on our herd as we have some SimAngs.

Thanks, Allisonr,  I haven't bred Yellow Repo to any SimAngus yet, just to the dirty (TH carriers) that are out of SimAngus dams but I bet he would work that way.  I saw him as a mature bull at the Cream of the Crop sale when he sold a couple of years ago.  He was very sound and impressive.

I've seen a few good BIM's, WA's and General Lee's out of Sim/Angus cows.
