Tuscaloosa is looking to be a realy good bull.  He has the heritage to be a great one.  I am very excited about his future.  I don't think he is going to add a lot of frame to your cows.  He was kind of a smaller framed deal both times I saw him.  Do they have the sexed semen yet on him?

I would say that TM GUS would be a good bet for the smaller cows, but he is not proven yet.  If you are looking at a Shorthorn bull I would stay away from Tuscaloosa on the smaller cows especially the 1200lb ones.  With him being a Bloodstone son you would probably get into some calving difficulties with that.  Depending on the Frame of the 1500 lb ones Jake's Proud Jazz might work he is throwing some showy looking calves.  Also remember when you are looking at the EPD's on the shorthorns they are all screwed up right now and they are not worth the paper they are printed on.  Just something to think about.  Also TM Gus should throw some reds, whites, and maybe some roans.  But I am not sure.  More than likely solids.

Hey Davis you have been here and seen sons and daughters out of that unproven bull. Are sure that we haven't seen his baby's? ;D

If you are wanting to even up colors or if you have too many spotted red and white markings, you can solve this by using a white Shorthorn bull. You will get dark roans, even roans or whites . Not spotted markings. By the way, I have heard a lot of good about TM Gus, and am looking forward to seeing him in a few days.

Can one of you SH breeders explain the white heifer syndome? Do you want some hint of color around, say the edge of the ears to assure that there won't be a possibility of the infertility or am I all wet about all of this? Brent
