Thanks for all the input on my post! It is very appreciated and has been most interesting.
The reason for my post was just not for myself, but for others as well. I have visited with other cattlemen that have some of these "Clubby/More Terminal Type Cows". While I totally understand the reason(s) for raising and owning a herd of "Maternal Bred Cows", the fact remains that this other type of cows exists and probably not soon to go away.
I believe more people now understand the breeding of these Terminal Type cows and the ensuing issues and problems with them. Many breeders have now gotten "away from" breeding these types of individuals. From the observations and discussions I have had with other breeders, the number of cattlemen raising "Club Calves", has greatly reduced. But, I digress and that would be a topic for another post.
In conclusion, let me say that IMHO...as long as we as breeders are raising "Show/Market Heifers", for high dollars, and are the "Terminal Type" and continue to win shows. These same "projects" and "Terminal/Market Heifers" will continue to end up coming home to someones cow herd to make Momma Cows. These same cows need a specific type of bull to be bred to that, as of yet (to my knowledge), while may be available, has not been "promoted" for such matings. Thanks!
