Where ever the best bull is I don't care. Maines used to have somrthing like this till it ended due to the right people winning instead of the right bull.  I recently bought semen on just such a bull. Hopefully he's not a Pha carrier.

Someone else will have the "best" bull.  Even if he's able to be registered as a %Chi or Maintainer, he never will be.  He'll be bought and promoted as the next great thing, just to sire club calves even though half of those calves will be heifers.  In a few years, no one will be using him.  Something else will come along, same song...

Trausch farms will have some of the best bulls out there. Their bulls are really the dream team this year..

I think lautners just buy up what ever bull calves they can and promote them. I like alot of wades bulls. Quality over quantity. not saying that lautners dont have good bulls. i just think that with the way the industry is we dont need these all these so so bulls we need a hand full of the best ones.

  Sorry young gun im confused, Not to change direction,but the four=4 bulls you listed on the gelbvieh/balancer heifer post as the best to cover said heifers,who owns and/or promotes those bulls?

if short bodied and dumpy tickles you.. Heck, I have a shorthorn calf that could look like that if clipped up right.. he's got 5 inches of hair...  But I'm ready to steer him.

And this calf is 9 months old maybe 10. He doesn't look that dumpy. My 1st thought was he actually looked fairly moderate. Judging by shoulder height on those polls, he's not your everyday pud.....

The other thing is, this calf is a HW. A lot of those deals have some grow to them.

It's pretty easy to follow really, who has a breeding program that produces consistency? It doesn't matter what part of the industry you are in, that's the first place to start.
