just curious, we used a lot of sexed power to Change this spring for this purpose guy doing the AIing is afriend and part owner,  but curious what others thought.

We have a mostly limousin comercial herd.  cows are mostly Heavy muscled, typically sturcturally correct, plenty of extra leather up front.  What bull would you use to get heifers out of with the intent to raise club calves for your own kids, maybe sell a couple, but would be for mostly local shows.....

Notorious for his front end, Who Made Who. If you cows are sound and have plenty of muscle he will definitely make a show steer. His cows are highly sought after as replacements. If you get a good WMW cow they cross well with just about anything.

Rumor Mill?

Right now, we are using a red purebred double clean son of Gigolo Joe x HAA Contender (carrier) to do something similar to what you are after, but different breeding.

There are plenty of Maine bulls out there though, that I would use if black cattle were my goal.

KEY WORD ....................CLUBBY
Your bull is no more proven than taking a risk on using a proven club bull. Since you have such a large club calf deal going on your definitely should be a resource for this topic.
Not that I am a resource by any means.

If you are not set on using a clubby bull right out of the gate, I would recommend an Angus bull. We love the results when we cross BR Midland or a son on Limi or Limi based cows. This should produce calves that can compete and give you a consistant base to go forward with club breeding.

Depending on what these cows look like, we've had a lot of luck using the limflex bull talledega, purebred duece, angus bulls Bismarck, and net worth. If your hooked on clubby perhaps something like monopoly with an angus base, has worked well on limousin cross cows.

Purebred bulls we are using right now are U B Jammin for AI, and a law dogg son for natural.  We also have Stocktrader and were supposed to have a buch of calves out of him but he must have hurt himself early in the breeding season last spring.  The three heifers we have out of him we really like so far.  Just know we need to add so "style" to otherwise good cows to be able to have a few club calves down the road for a very competitive county fair or beyond.
