I know we have touched on this before but, I would like to know Pros and Cons.

I have a '07 Chevy 6.6 turbo.
Increased fuel economy?
Horsepower.
Smoke. ( I have found a new pastime. I will pull up to a hybrid or Obama  supporter and then punch the gas, I just need more smoke. I do a lot of driving and pull a trailer everyday so I need something to break up the day. I know this is childish but oh well.

What is the best Brand?

Thanks in advance!

Theres lots of companies offering hop up add-ons for diesels,BULLY DOG,EDGE,BANKS.For my money i would go with a banks system for the reason he was the first at hot rodding diesels, either way they are all expensive but definately boost performance.

before you even think about chipping your truck you NEED to put on a aftermarket intake and exhaust.  If you dont the EGT will start getting out of control and the restricted air intake can hurt the performance of your turbo.

I have to tell you, when I see trucks with stacks shooting out tons of exhaust, I'm shocked that they aren't pulled over for pollution.

I'm a life-long Republican but find the exhaust spewing diesels absolutely deplorable, filthy, and pointless.

Seriously, what's the point?

There isnt anything better than pulling up to the state fair grounds and blowing black smoke at the passer byers. City folks get covered in black and still call us rednecks as there laughing.

Uhh, don't you mean "they're laughing"?

Maybe that's why they're laughing at you.

Most people make fun of guys with smokestacks for a reason not having to do with being a redneck.

They do get pulled over where I live.

Yet to see a smoking diesel get pulled over for unnecessary pollution.

SCT makes a programer that will flat turn some juice to a deisel truck. I've hung with some old souped up Z28's with mine. You should see the look on some of their faces when you run up on their bumper at 120 mph with an F-250 !!!!

I think that EDGE would be the best bet. Because when you buy an EDGE they have built in gauges so you don't have to worry bout your EGT's. The new EDGES also have restritions on them just in case your tranny starts slipping or your EGT's get too hot it will kick the chip off.

I had one for my 04 Duramax and loved it. Noticeable increase in torque and mileage. I also ended up going through a set of injectors.

I haven't been brave enough to do it to the 08 yet. Once I'm past 40k miles I might put a tuner on it.

I have a Diablo Predator for a Duramax LLY. If anyone is interested PM me.
