As winter is approaching sooner than we know it, what is everyone excited for this winter? I am excited to get some calves on the ground again, expecially since we A.I.'ed some this year instead of breeding them to our herd bulls. Let us know what you are excited for this winter!

I have to agree with you Forbes, Im looking forward to come babys. Excited to see what we get this year. Also been a part of a premire breeding beef program this year, winner gets a buckle and a heifer Im so ready to see how I did.

Waiting for the snow to fly so I can spend the first half of my day taking care of the cows and the second half snowmobiling.

Silver, I was in Olivet, SD pheasant hunting a few years back and after the hunt the guide turned me and one of my friends a loose on a snowmobile. We started to phone home and tell them we were not coming back. A 1500cc snowmobile will get up and go on an alfalfa field with a foot on snow. Only time I've ever ridden one but it was the bomb for sure.

I am not looking forward to winter.  The state climatologist has said to expect a repeat of last year for our parts.  Maybe this is a good thing since they said we would have a drought this year and it ended up the wettest year on record.  I will take the snow over the cold any day.

I am not looking forward to winter either.  We havebeen so wet this year, we have very little of our hay home.  The yard and lots are muddy, and still too wet to get last years manure out.  If we go into freeze up this way, next Spring will be a disaster.  Hauling hay with 2 ft of snow in the fields, is just no fun.

some calves in february. Winter means high school basketball season too. nothing like it in southern ohio. I also dont hit the deer woods until it cools down pretty good

Do yourself a favor, take a trip to the mountains a couple times. Its amazing where you can go on a snowmobile. I have a 2010 nytro xf with a boondocker nytro kit on it and changed the cooling system around. I've got the weight down and the power up and it will do nothing short of 140mph in the flats. Climbing hills is a whole different ball game, but its a ton of fun.
