Anyone have some cows in their herds? His milk EPDs suck but his daughters look dang nice. Is the milk EPD a true reflection of what his daughters are doing?

TIA

Well for his age his milk EPD is fairly accurate if you are asking about his milk EPD #.

Yes on paper the accuracy may be decent, but what I am looking for is more along the lines is if the daughters are truly reflecting such a low milk EPD.

Not being used on heifers. Looking more towards next year.

Milking heritability is only 15%, so take that into account. IMO some of these cows are milking too hard to be in shape to get rebred in a timely matter. It just depends on your own operation really how much milk you can deal with.

Good call on the heritability. And I agree there are many other factors that can play a role in that. I don't want a dairy cow here, but also can't afford to sell cattle that don't have any milk either.

As a practical matter, given both bulls, which would be the best bull for a heifer?  They both are considered heifer bulls I guess.

I really like the WS a Step Up bull but Uno Mas gives more in terms of API
