Maybe obesity would not be such a problem if you couldn't buy Soda Pop and Energy drinks with Food Stamps!!!!!.

Not sure how Pop and Energy Drinks equate to a healthy diet in children.  But just wait,  there is an intense lobby to allow Food Stamp recipients to buy fast food with their government dollars.

It wasn't a shot at you Shortdawg, I was talking about your Senators and House Representatives.  All they talk about is us becoming Greece, then when programs that benefit them are cut there is a problem.  If the bill truly does stiff cotton and rice farmers then I don't think it is right, but then maybe the legislators representing cotton and rice areas shouldn't be so easy to condemn anyone who gets help from the government.
:) no harm done here

Obesity wasn't a problem when Kids, had chores, schools had p.e., tv was 3 channels, and a video was just something you saw on sat at the picture show.

is adult obesity to blame as a result of online forums, and hand held internet devices?

Hey, that sounds just like our place! No cable or satellite, chores till sundown (show heifers take time to work with!), and videos are watched on rainy days (Veggie Tales are the BOMB!).  Oh, and all kids have PE still...  (thumbsup)

oh, wait, none of my kids are obese (but my husband and myself are a different story  (lol) )

It doesn't seem like it, it is it. It's because the thread has jumped the shark and conversations jump the shark.  This thread will do it because someone mentioned a hifgh seller so it will evolve into a fake price and how that fake price is supported, how the buyer will never work on the calf, maybe not show it and a whole host of other things.  The other reason is that we are at a tipping point of division in the country and there doesn't seem to be any solutions other than trying to force the other side to do what we want based on a couple of issues, abortion and taxing people who are productive far more on a percentage basis than people who aren't.

Do we  really want our local governments focusing on banning plastic bags when they could help minimize the spread of Nora virus instead they could be focusing on other things that would allow kids to participate in ag by improving the economy through a more uniform tax code, less subsidies, less paperwork all kinds of things besides social issues and word stealing.

Breeds aren't in trouble, the country is.

As my daddy use to tell me... The better you are doing at something the more people will try to knock you down... As many people on here who love to come after anything shorthorn they must be really threatening the old way of doing things. Why does so many worry about what and how shorthorns are doing? Are they that worried about shorthorns?

In my opinion the only place an 1800 pound cow works is in a show ring scenario, Canada, or in a cult breed.

:-\ :-\ :-\ I wouldn't fret about that situation too much. That magazine is controlled by the show-ring mafia of the Shorthorn breed.
