Set of Twins with a PHA calf!

Knabe, you are better than that. You of all people are capable of reading comprehension enough to see that I acknowledge human error as the primary suspect when false results are yielded. I also did not disparage the test. It is a tremendous breakthrough and has changed our lives as cattle...

Set of Twins with a PHA calf!

The TEST involves a human taking a sample, shipping a sample, handling a sample, analyzing the sample, and recording data found. The TEST is faulty. I am not in the mood to debate semantics over the definition if IS. I highly doubt Josh gives a hoot where the error occurred when IVY was...

Set of Twins with a PHA calf!

Why is it hard to believe? The test is faulty for TH, why wouldnt it be for PHA?

Let me ask you this - pics added

depends if we are talking diluter simmy rat tail grey, or if its a smokey gray. Either way if he is what Zach makes him out to be, the color wont hurt a bit. A color dilution gene doesnt quite bother as much as the alphabet soups of genetic trainwrecks that are around. Call me crazy, but I would...

Calberta MCM Donor 9758 by Heatwave NEW PHOTO!!!!

Very impressive beast. Nice validation pictured below her. I think what floored me the most is that you can see she actually milks. Off the top of my head I cant remember seeing a picture of a HW mature cow dry that you can see evidence of an udder. How old is she? Other than the fall heifer...

    Houston Carcass Results

I think some stein got into the angus gene pool, sure. If you can find a picture of say, Cobble Pond New Yorker, you would think they were high % stein. As far as carcass number angus cattle owing their quality traits to their stein heritage, I'm not buying it. It was purported to me that the...

    Houston Carcass Results

Fed champions you are very correct in that the maine steer in question may well have had Holstein in him. Since Sugar Ray was supposedly 6% Holstein, it is very conceivable that Holstein blood is present. My quick math says that if the steer for instance, was out of Friction, the calf would be...

    old shorthorn semen

Improver 57 has dropped like a stone. Cunia I have seen from $100 an amp up to $300. Pretty consistently north of 2.

    old shorthorn semen

If that truly is the original Deerpark Leader, That is worth a ton. I think is was over $1000 a straw ten years ago or more. I thought I had heard there was no known DL left in existence.

    Matt Lautner's Monopoly

Whats his number, guess I need to come up with a stupid reason to pick a fight with him too if it gets free monopoly semen out of the deal. Maybe Hook, too since I was going to order My Turn anyway.

Picture: Please give me your honest opinion of this Super Star....

let me guess, Herbie the Haybelly? actually looks better than most bottle calves I have seen. My neighbor kid has a yearling WMW/Throttle et bottle calf I gave him that weighs 300 lbs and looks like badger got drunk and shacked up with a sheep.

Bull stud opinions just a big ol WOW

I think we shot this horse quite some time ago. There have been numerous posts, including pictures, that you may find interesting should you choose to use the search feature. Before you get in a hurry to cross the bull in question off your list, you may want to look into his progeny. Some butt...

    bull called purple haze

Power plant son. He was ok, but really just another PP son. 20 years ago, Plant was like heatwave, every other bull at stud was a son. Good cattle in my mind.

***ASK BRAD HOOK A QUESTION THREAD***

I have always been curious about heatseeker, did you convince Grahams to try a chiangus bull on an irish shorthorn cow and expect a cool black moderate stout hairball to result? Did you experiment alot with "non traditional" matings?

***ASK BRAD HOOK A QUESTION THREAD***

You alluded to the concentration of the "clubby" gene pool, will it take a paradigm shift in type we are selecting to open up the genetics utilized or do you think that we will see an outcross surface, like we did with the charolais, and where might a guess be that it will come from? Galloway...

***ASK BRAD HOOK A QUESTION THREAD***

Brad, have there been any negative repercussions to the My Turn parentage mystery? Decrease in orders? Returns? Legal issues?

    Full Flush cows

There is a whole lot of crosses breed wise in Flush, compounded with the variable genetics of the dam means it is impossible to say "X bull works" "Y bull doesnt".  Its going to be a hit and miss, nick em up deal. Whole lot of great FF cows out there doing it with a whole lot of different bulls...

    cow wont breed

Too many reasons to list. Being an open mature cow when you bought her might be the first sign that she is a problem breeder. If she is something special, or for some reasons warrants the hassle, have a vet check her. In my world she earned a ticket to McDonalds and move on.
